Owl-faced Guenon

A notoriously shy and elusive primate, owl-faced guenons are classified as Vulnerable under IUCN criteria and are near endemics to the Albertine Rift. As very little is known about owl-faced guenon ecology and  conservation status throughout their limited range in central Africa, Nyungwe provides an import research and conservation area for this species.
