Climate Change

Nyungwe Forest is centrally located in the Albertine Rift, and so has been one of the focal regions of the WCS Albertine Rift Climate Assessment, a research initiative to understand and plan for the impacts of climate change on conservation in one of Africa’s most biodiverse regions. Efforts by WCS are currently be undertaken to provide freely available data that can be used by policy makers and planners to evaluate the effectiveness of climate change adaptation strategies in Rwanda and provide reports on the status of biodiversity and ecosystem services that will be shared with partners.
